  • Cargotec to supply gate automation technology at Brazilian terminals

    Cargotec has announced that it will integrate its gate automation technology at the Brazilian container terminals of Tecon Salvador and Tecon Rio Grande. The terminals, both operated by Wilson Sons Group, will install Cargotec’s SmartLanes process automation solution for gate automation – a part of the Cargotec SmartPort concept.

  • APM Terminals Starts Construction of Peru Expansion Project

    APM Terminals said it has started the construction of a $307 million project to expand and modernize the terminal it operates in Peru's port of Callao. APM Terminals said the project, which includes expanding the terminal's facilities by demolishing an old train station, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.

  • Costa Rica to invest $34 million to expand Caldera port

(i) Seminar on Port Statistics (in Spanish): On behalf of the Vice Admiral Mr. Frank Boyle Chairman of National Port Authority of Peru (APN) and the Executive Board of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CECIP) invite you to the "Seminar on Port Statistics" organized by the APN and the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the OAS to be held on November 29-30, 2012. (ii) The Third Work Session of the Executive Board of the CIP (CECIP) The Third work session of the CECIP will be held in person at the Organization of American States Headquarters in Washington DC on November 12 and 13, 2012.

(iii) The XII Iberoamerican Course on Technology, Operations and Environmental Port Management will be held from Monday October 15 to Friday November 9 2012 organized by Puertos del Estado de España and the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), in Santander, Spain

(iv) Dredging in the 21st Century, Exhibit and Conference: We are pleased to announce that the fourth specialty conference on dredging and dredged material disposal, Dredging 2012, will be taking place in San Diego, CA on October 22 — 25, 2012. (v) CIP Magazine Volume 17: The CIP Magazine Volume 17 is in preparation and counts as hosts to the Venezuelan ports, through Bolivarian Ports S.A. Therefore, the edition will include information about the port system of Venezuela, its present and projected. The volume also includes information on ports across the continent.
